About The Position
EDF Trading North America, LLC is a major participant in wholesale energy markets and delivers customized energy solutions for our customers. We operate in every market and provide coast to coast coverage of financial and physical products in power, natural gas and NGLs, environmental products and financial crude oil products. Our Wholesale Business operates throughout the value chain in the North American wholesale power markets and we are one of the leading wholesale natural gas marketers. Additionally, we provide environmental, congestion management and value added derivative products. With extensive pipeline agreements, we can manage natural gas offtakes, deliveries, capacities and supply anywhere across the continent. The Power Analyst will work closely with and support the East Power Trading team. This role involves building and supporting analytical and trading tools, assisting with trade book exposures and P&L reconciliation, performing fundamental market risk analysis and due diligence, and generally supporting the trading activities on the desk. The analyst will be responsible for performing fundamental analysis of power markets, assisting traders with data manipulation and analytical support utilizing programming languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA. The role also includes participating in the end of day process, running daily P&L for multiple power strategies, ensuring accurate curves are submitted, and managing models. The Power Analyst will develop a complete understanding of P&L as it relates to existing desk positions, breaking down key P&L drivers and reporting results to traders and management. The analyst will assist in the development and presentation of trading strategies for various risk and management meetings, identify and develop trading and hedging tools for various risk factors in the East region, and organize data for trading ideas for all East Region Trading Hubs. Participation in scheduled and ad hoc strategic trading discussions is also expected, along with developing skills to commercially contribute to the team in a manner that will generate or assist in the generation of revenue.
