We have developed and maintain various proprietary research tools, including power flow modeling, statistical data analysis, supply-demand modelling and machine learning. These are deployed to identify trading opportunities, construct portfolios, and manage our risks and capital.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Power Systems, EE, Business, or related discipline.
3+ years of on-job programming experience in SQL, Visualization tools (Tableau / PowerBI).
Strong problem-solving ability to ask the right questions and leverage data / tools to answer those questions.
Ability to clearly communicate (including listening) business needs.
Excellent technical writing and data presentation skills.
Past work experience in energy markets preferably power markets and understanding generation stacks.
Driven and able to work independently in ambiguous situations and fast-paced environment
Ability to work with large databases using SQL, experience in writing complicated queries involving joins, sub queries and co-related queries.
Ability to work on project independently from collection of business requirements to productionizing and supporting in fast paced environment.
Demonstrate interest in working with big data and good understanding of visualization best practices, data modelling and data analysis.
Ability to handle both project-based and quick-turnaround analysis under time constraints.
Possess a basic understanding of statistical concepts.
Experience in coding is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in Power Systems Analysis or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the traders, other analysts, and IT to develop and maintain analytical decision support systems – primarily comprising queries and visual dashboards.
Understand (or develop understanding of) market data and how it can be utilized/presented to drive actionable trading decisions.
Conduct quantitative market analysis on large datasets under guidance from traders.
Manage life cycle of analyses – ideation, draft, iteration, documentation, and production.
Keep abreast with the latest technology and trends, follow best practices and propagate best practices in the team.
Coordinate with globally located teams (in different time zones).
