About The Position

The Painter 1 position is an entry-level skilled role responsible for operating various painting equipment without supervision. The incumbent must be able to operate a spray wash booth and notify the lead or manager if adjustments are needed. This position serves as the starting level for a Painter, with responsibilities that may include advanced "wet" painting.

Requirements

• Possess working knowledge of paint booth and painting equipment.
• Ability to change over color modules for paint booths.
• Troubleshooting skills are necessary.
• Ability to work in a team environment that encourages development and results.
• Working knowledge of painting processes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize fresh air hoods at all times when painting in a booth or inside paint kitchen areas.
• Demonstrate and maintain standard work guidelines while meeting established cycle times.
• Perform the paint flush process as required.
• Participate in preventative maintenance activities when assigned.
• Engage in daily housekeeping and 6s projects to maintain an orderly work area.
• Understand when adjustments need to be made to maintain good quality and production.
• Ensure proper lighting and airflow parameters are met prior to painting product.
• Understand electrostatic application and when not to use it.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
