About The Position

As a Powder Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Ava/Sapac Packaging equipment, ensuring Company production standards are met for pounds and bags per hour. Perform start-up and shut-down procedures for various equipment, including powder bin, rare earth magnet, packaging filler, ink jet coding machine, metal detection equipment, and palletizing system. Maintain adequate packaging supply stock, uphold accurate record-keeping, and ensure a clean work environment. Adhere to SOPs, HACCP guidelines, and UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies. Report any nonconformities and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

Ability to operate packaging equipment.
Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
Adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Ability to multitask
Ability to use common math
Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize time
Strong time management skills with ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in food production, manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environment
Knowledge of evaporators, dryers, pasteurizers, separators and food manufacturing process

Nice To Haves

Fork Lift Certification
General knowledge of packaging equipment and conveyor systems is helpful.
Food & Beverage Manufacturing operator experience
Dairy Manufacturing experience
Previous experience in dairy processing
High School Diploma would be preferred

Responsibilities

Perform the efficient operation of all Sapac Packaging equipment to maintain Company established production standards for pounds per hour of finished product and bags per hour.
Perform start-up and shut-down functions of the powder bin and rare earth magnet, packaging filler, ink jet coding machine, metal detection equipment and palletizing system.
Maintain proper packaging supply stock.
Keep accurate and legible records.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines.
Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
Other duties as required.
