Summary: The Powder Coating Manager will manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. This role requires full control and ownership of the plant's fast-paced powder coating department, ensuring that all operations meet the established quality standards and productivity goals. The manager will compile, sort, and analyze production data and standards, using this data to reach product quality and production goals. They will analyze machine uptime and cycle times to plan and estimate labor and equipment capacity needs to meet demand. Utilizing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts, the manager will identify opportunities to improve current processes, protocols, and procedures, leading to process improvements, cost avoidance, and/or cost savings. Additionally, the manager will ensure that the Powder Coating area is well-kept, and that machinery and tools are maintained, while also maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in compliance with OSHA regulations. The role involves reviewing and analyzing production and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformance with product specifications, assisting in developing cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency within the Powder Coating department. The manager will participate with company management in formulating short- and long-range plans for departmental and production growth, while establishing and maintaining positive employee relations and developing organizational capability, succession plans, cross-training, and growth paths for employees.
