About The Position

Support the powder coating operations by leading a team of operators and technicians to achieve production goals, maintain quality standards, and ensure safety compliance under the direction of the Production Manager.

Requirements

• Leadership: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by guiding and motivating team members while maintaining a collaborative work environment.
• Technical Expertise: Utilize a solid understanding of powder coating processes to support operations and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Communication: Clearly relay instructions from the Production Manager to the team and ensure all team members are informed of their responsibilities.
• Problem-Solving: Quickly address operational issues within the team’s scope, using a practical approach to minimize disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting daily production targets by ensuring team members follow established procedures and efficiently operate equipment, proactively addressing minor issues and escalating significant concerns to the Production Manager.
• Conduct regular inspections of coated products to ensure they meet quality standards and support team members in maintaining high-quality output by providing guidance and training on quality procedures.
• Lead daily shift meetings to communicate production goals, safety reminders, and updates from the Production Manager, promoting team collaboration and a positive work environment.
• Ensure team members adhere to safety protocols at all times, conducting safety checks, reporting hazards, acting as the first point of contact for safety concerns, and assisting in safety training sessions.
• Identify areas where team efficiency can be improved, suggest changes to the Shift Supervisor, and encourage team members to contribute ideas for process enhancements.
• Maintain accurate records of team performance, production output, and any issues that arise during the shift, providing detailed end-of-shift reports to the Production Manager.
• Oversee the correct use of equipment by team members, ensuring proper operation, flagging maintenance needs, and performing routine checks to detect issues early, coordinating with the maintenance team as necessary.
