About The Position

Founded by the Channell family in 1922, Channell is a global designer, manufacturer, and seller of outside plant infrastructure equipment. The markets served by Channell are Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV, among others. Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults. JOB SUMMARY: The Powder Coating Operator will operate the automated and manual Powder Coat Paint lines necessary to produce parts for production while meeting the schedule. Take an active role in all aspects of paint production.

Requirements

Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools.
Good understanding of quality and safety practices
Read and understand written assembly instructions.
Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) ISO sections about the position.
1+ year working in powder coating spray booth.
Submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Pass work physical and lift test
High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English.
Ability to lift up to 30 / 50 pounds.
Capacity to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure on-time clocking and reporting to the workstation.
Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules, including PPE and uniform compliance.
Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, work instructions, and verbal instructions regarding work assignments.
Document and standardize work processes.
Basic use of all inspection tools such as Calipers and other measuring devices.
Able to identify all materials used in producing metal components for every part.
Maintains a safe and clean working area.
Work on developing a process for all new operations.
Manage workload and effectively use available resources to meet production requirements.
Increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality.
Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
