About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walkways, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. One will align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, patch voids, and use saws to cut expansion joints. The Concrete Pour Finisher must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor. Requirements

A Minimum of three years of experience finishing concrete structures, pier foundations, steel forming systems and pouring concrete is request.
Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions
Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, couch, crawl and reach to preform everyday job task

Responsibilities

Signals concrete truck driver to position vehicle to facilitate pouring concrete.
Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with hand held screen and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
Finishes concrete surfaces, and wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to finish.
Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
Molds expansion joints and edges.
Sprinkles colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
Directs subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.
Operates all equipment and tools required to do each job which may include cement mixing machines, power trowels, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and other instruments.
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long lasting use.
Responsible and accountable for incumbent’s own personal safety.
Responsible and accountable for the safety of all co-workers and any others incumbent encounters.
Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed.
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
