Pour Finisher Laborer (Travel)

About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walkways, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. One will align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, patch voids, and use saws to cut expansion joints. Requirements

A minimum of one year of experience finishing concrete structures, pier foundations, steel forming systems, and pouring concrete is preferred.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Must be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and other similar activities as needed.

Responsibilities

Signals concrete truck driver to position vehicle to facilitate pouring concrete.
Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with handheld screen and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
Finishes concrete surfaces and wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to finish.
Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
Molds expansion joints and edges.
Sprinkles colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
Directs subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.
Operates all equipment and tools required to do each job which may include cement mixing machines, power trowels, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and other instruments.
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use.
