This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. The position involves collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations, and working with day old chicks. The candidate must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment, collect blood samples, and band/tag or remove tags from birds. It is essential to follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. The role requires the ability to work with chemicals such as detergents and disinfectants, and to perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained. The work environment may include farm-related smells or odors and a loud/noisy atmosphere. The position may require working up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
