About The Position

The Poult Service Room Technician position at Hormel Foods is a full-time hourly role with a base hiring pay of $20.15 per hour. The role involves various responsibilities related to the handling and servicing of poults in a hatchery environment. The technician will be required to follow strict sanitation and biosecurity policies while performing their duties.

Requirements

• Ability to work a 10 to 12 hour shift
• Basic math skills
• Ability to grasp and pinch repeatedly with both hands, hand coordination to rotate wrists and manipulate poults with fingers and thumb of both hands
• Be able to work in a moderately dusty environment continuously
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load poults on conveyer for servicing
• Confirm box number and flock numbers match
• Careful handling of poults and attention to poult density
• Stack poult filled boxes
• Transfer to holding room
• Understand and meet the hatchery sanitation/biosecurity policies and procedures
• Perform all required equipment and work area clean up
• Occasional work on Saturdays or Holidays
• Other duties as assigned
