About The Position

Spiffy Pottery Studio is seeking a passionate staff member to join their newly established community-focused pottery studio in Menlo Park. The role involves teaching pottery classes, managing studio operations, and providing excellent customer service to students and members. The ideal candidate will inspire others in the art of pottery and contribute to the studio's growth through marketing and operational management.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of related experience
  • At least 1 year of teaching pottery experience
  • Passionate about pottery
  • Knowledgeable about the entire pottery-making process
  • Facilitate and influence others and problem-solve beyond temporary solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Check studio operations upon opening
  • Review email and online orders
  • Load and unload bisque ware
  • Load and unload glaze ware
  • Maintain and manage glazes
  • Prepare glazes as needed
  • Recycle and clean clay
  • Purchase materials, including clay, tools, and raw supplies
  • Manage marketing efforts: update the website, maintain Instagram, manage the email list, and create ads
  • Oversee class management for both teachers and students
  • Teach introductory and intermediate classes
  • Provide customer service to students and members.
