About The Position

The Wiersielis Lab in the Department of Biobehavioral Health at The Pennsylvania State University (http://bbh.hhd.psu.edu/) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team. Our work investigates the neurobehavioral effects of environmental chemical exposure, with an emphasis on endocrine-disrupting compounds, stress, cognition, anxiety, and sex-dependent mechanisms of neurotoxicity using mouse models. The successful candidate will employ a combination of behavioral assays, ELISA, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry under the mentorship of Dr. Kim Wiersielis. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in behavioral neuroscience, laboratory management, primary drafting of peer-reviewed manuscripts, and statistical approaches (e.g., GraphPad Prism), with experience in neuroendocrinology, molecular biology, or toxicology considered advantageous. Due to data access restrictions, this position is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and foreign nationals, but all applicants must have resided in the U.S. for three of the past five years (36 of the past 60 months). The expected duration of this appointment is one year with potential for renewal based on fit and funding availability. The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing equity, respect, and belonging. We embrace individual uniqueness, as well as a culture of belonging that supports equity initiatives, leverages the educational and institutional benefits of inclusion in society, and provides opportunities for engagement intended to help all members of the community thrive. We value belonging as a core strength and an essential element of the university's teaching, research, and service mission. To apply for this position, please upload a one-page cover letter that explicitly discusses your research experiences and future goals, your CV, and the names and contact information of three people who can be contacted as references.
