The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholar of Chemistry Education Research, College of Science [R0150117]. Only 1 position available ROLE of the POSITION The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in chemistry education or related field (ABD will be considered), and will be performing research in line with the PI’s research program. The postdoctoral scholar will also be encouraged to propose research that is interesting to them and demonstrate a certain level of independence in research endeavors. The postdoctoral scholar will also be a mentor to incoming graduate and undergraduate students in the group. The primary responsibility will be writing manuscripts, collecting and analyzing data, helping with grant proposal writing, and related tasks. In addition, the postdoctoral scholar will receive mentorship from the PI and the PI’s network in research, job searching, grant writing, manuscript preparation, research methodology, etc. PROFILE of the OFFICE OF POSTDOCTORAL AFFAIRS (OPA) The mission of the UNLV Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is to enhance and support postdoctoral training and career development; serve as the central resource office for postdoctoral questions and issues for faculty, supervisors, mentors, and prospective and current postdocs; build a community for all UNLV postdocs; and provide professional development programs and networking events for postdocs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a PhD in Chemistry Education Research or related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and EXPERIENCE in: Scientific/Academic writing Research methodology (Quant or Mixed Methods) Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Mplus, SPSS, etc.) Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
