The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year post-doctoral position in Sociology at the rank of Postdoctoral Scholar beginning August 2026. Ph.D. (completed by August 2026) in Sociology is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered for a pre-doctoral position at the rank of Predoctoral Scholar. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The Department of Sociology and Anthropology specifically seeks candidates to teach the introductory 100-level sociology course and a 200-level elective in their area of expertise. We especially welcome applicants who specialize in criminology, deviance, and social control. Teaching assignment is four courses per year (three in the fall term and one in the spring term), and funding is available for professional development.
