About The Position

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to perform research under the direction of Professor Aman Haque (Mechanical Engineering) & Professor Doug Wolfe (Materials Science & Engineering). This is a term appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with a possibility of renewal.

Requirements

  • Must have Ph.D. by the start of the appointment in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Materials/Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must pass the Sandia National Lab Screening and receive approval to the National Lab.
  • Excellent foundation on semiconductor device physics, reliability.
  • Hands on experience with device and system (FPGA, memory) characterization.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in radiation effects (single event, total ionize dose, displacement damage) is very helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical characterization on semiconductor devices as function of radiation exposure.
  • Collaborate with national lab(s) to perform experiments that mimic ionizing radiation.
  • Perform modeling and/or experimental analysis (microscopy, spectroscopy) to investigate the fundamentals of radiation effects in electronics.
  • Analyze data.
  • Disseminate findings in journals and conferences.
