About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on trabecular bone structure-function relationships and biomechanics in health and disease. This position combines independent research responsibilities with operational and technical support in our veterinary anatomy laboratory, offering opportunities to advance both research and educational missions.

Requirements

  • PhD in virtual anthropology, bone biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or related field
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D printing, biomechanical testing, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Programming ability in Python
  • Prior laboratory teaching or mentoring experience

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments in bone structure-function and biomechanics research
  • Utilize Dragonfly visualization software to segment and analyze 3D micro-CT scans
  • Perform statistical analysis using various software programs and analytical tools
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Present research findings at conferences and professional seminars
  • Collaborate with research team members to maintain a productive research environment
  • Contribute to grant writing activities and development of new research initiatives
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and guidance to graduate students and junior researchers
  • Manage administrative tasks related to research programs
  • Support veterinary anatomy laboratory operations through inventory management, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance
  • Assist with specimen preparation including cadaver processing, tissue preparation, and chemical solution formulation
  • Set up instructional materials and resources for anatomy courses
  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and record-keeping systems
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and adherence to safety regulations
  • Assist with teaching activities in the anatomy laboratory
