About The Position

The Postdoctoral Researcher position at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute focuses on advancing research in immunology, particularly the role of tissue-resident lymphocytes in cancer and inflammatory skin diseases. The successful candidate will lead grant-funded projects, utilizing both in vivo transgenic mouse models and ex vivo human tissue experiments, while benefiting from a collaborative environment and significant computational support for data analysis.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent in Immunology, Cell Biology, Dermatology, Computational Biology, or a relevant field.
  • No more than 1 year of prior postdoc experience.
  • Experience in immunology assays, cell culture, flow cytometry, and in vivo experiments.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for science and inquiry.
  • Ability to synthesize results to formulate hypotheses.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one published or in revision 1st author manuscript in a peer-reviewed English language journal.
  • Experience with single cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Experience with computational analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manuscripts, grants, and present research findings as abstracts or oral presentations.
  • Attend weekly group meetings and 1:1 meetings to present data and interpretation of results, troubleshoot research results, and suggest next steps.
  • Attend research-related meetings including team meetings, seminars, and journal clubs.
  • Perform experiments utilizing appropriate lab or computational techniques with proficiency, evaluate results, and determine the next steps to complete projects and present data.
  • Stay updated on scientific literature and build skills to maximize project potential.
  • Duties as assigned.
