About The Position

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Institute for Geophysics, focusing on the interiors of icy ocean worlds such as Enceladus, Titan, Europa, and Ganymede. This position is part of a collaborative research environment that aims to advance our understanding of these planetary bodies through computer modeling and geophysical analysis. The successful candidate will work primarily with Dr. Douglas Hemingway and will have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers across the Jackson School of Geosciences and the wider UT campus. The role involves developing computer models to study geodynamical processes, contributing to ongoing research projects, and leading new initiatives in related areas. Candidates should possess a strong background in physics and mathematics, along with expertise in geophysics, geodynamics, geochemistry, and/or computer modeling, preferably with experience in MATLAB. The position is expected to continue until August 31, 2025, with a starting date that is negotiable. The successful candidate will also have access to research funding and professional development opportunities.
