About The Position

The Bettelli Lab at the Benaroya Research Institute is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. Our lab focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying immune regulation and autoimmunity, with particular emphasis on T cell biology and the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases. At BRI, a leader in human immune system research, we foster collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches to accelerate scientific discovery and its translation to patient care.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or M.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field
  • Strong background in immunology, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and mouse models of disease is preferred
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with animal models may require an Animal Handling Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of projects
  • Perform in vivo and in vitro experiments
  • Documentation and analysis of experimental results
  • Preparation of data for publication and/or presentation
  • Operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation
  • Conduct literature searches and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific advances
  • May assist in writing research grant/contract applications
  • Collaborate with other labs within BRI and the University of Washington (UW), contributing to discussions on experimental design and data interpretation
  • Provide oversight of research technicians
  • Write and submit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Attend BRI and UW scientific seminars, weekly lab meetings, and external scientific conferences
  • May involve work with research mice and require relevant training/certification
