The Program on Conflict and Development (ConDev) in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. ConDev conducts frontier research on the economic causes and consequences of conflict, forced displacement, and recovery, combining rigorous theoretical and empirical methods with policy engagement in data-constrained environments. The successful candidate will contribute to a growing research agenda spanning topics such as conflict spillovers, forced displacement and host community impacts, firm and labor market responses to instability, and the interaction between climate shocks, resource use, and institutions. The program works with a range of data sources, including administrative microdata, household and firm surveys, and geospatial datasets. The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate closely with the program director and affiliated researchers on ongoing projects, with opportunities to contribute to the preparation of research proposals and to engage in the intellectual life of the Program on Conflict and Development, including workshops, seminars, and dissemination activities.
