About The Position

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Yang Lab. The Yang Lab in Department of Surgery at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our translational research team. The research focuses on understanding and targeting splicing factors in high-risk hepatoblastoma. This work is highly mechanistic and translational, leveraging cutting-edge genetic and pharmacologic tools in patient-derived xenografts and genetically engineered mouse models to inform better therapies.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. (or nearing completion) in molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, developmental biology, immunology, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and a collaborative mindset.
  • A strong publication record demonstrating scientific rigor and productivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mouse models, genome editing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments investigating the role of splicing regulators in regulating therapy resistance by molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques.
  • Evaluate preclinical efficacy of splicing inhibitors in combination with standard therapies.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including cancer biologists and clinicians.
  • Present findings at national and international meetings and contribute to manuscript preparation and grant proposals.
