Candidates must have a PhD, MD, MBBS , or equivalent. Conduct experiments in the areas of basic molecular and cellular biology (protein gel electrophoresis and western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, mammalian cell culture, PCR . Develop new methods in the laboratory focused on the molecular and cellular intercommunication between coagulation, fibrinolysis, and inflammation. Manage laboratory, individual data analysis and presentation of laboratory data and clinical data. Prepares manuscripts and grant proposal relating to this work. Work with interdisciplinary team members (histology, comparative medicine and clinical research cores) to perform multifunctional studies. An emphasis will be placed on clinical research, scientific experimental design, problem-solving abilities, collaborative skills, communication skills (written and oral), and grantsmanship. Will also manage clinical data, IRB submissions, analyze outcomes within acute trauma databases, and contribute to manuscript and presentation development. Prepares papers and grant proposals relating to this work and may present at conferences. Attend grand rounds/ research forums. Attend departmental meetings. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
