About The Position

Here’s a Glimpse of the Job Texas A&M’s Biology Department is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who, under general supervision, will conduct research within their field of expertise, applying advanced knowledge and skills gained through education and experience to successfully complete research projects. The Postdoctoral Research Associate analyzes findings and contributes to the preparation of research papers, articles, and other scholarly publications. This role also involves collaborating with faculty and other researchers and assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the research worksite. Analyzes and summarizes research data and contributes to the preparation of research papers, articles, and other scholarly publications. Prepares presentation materials and technical progress reports to communicate research findings to sponsors and diverse audiences. Assists with mentoring and supervising student researchers and graduate students engaged in project-related research activities. Assists with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of the research worksite.

Requirements

  • PhD in a biology-related field (cell, molecular, evolution, or closely related fields)
  • Research experience in a professional setting.
  • Appropriate track-record of scientific publications and presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Analytical and statistical skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fluorescent microscopy techniques (confocal).
  • Familiarity with basic microbiological techniques.
  • Familiarity with marine invertebrate larval culturing.
  • Familiarity with immunology in non-vertebrates.
  • Familiarity with developmental biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with genomic analyses.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with experimental biology in an ecological and evolutionary context.
  • Experience with basic statistics in ecology and evolution.
