About The Position

The Formulation Sciences Program and laboratory of Dr. Brooke Bernhardt at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recruiting a motivated postdoc researcher. The post-doc will be part of a new program in Formulation Sciences which aims to develop and translate pediatric-suitable dosage forms for clinical care and research. We are a translational research program which aims to have direct impact on patient care and clinical trials. Our program leverages 3D printing (primarily semi-solid extrusion) as the mechanism for reformulating existing pharmaceuticals – both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms – into novel dosage forms. Successful candidates will have experience with 3D printing and clinical pharmaceutics/formulation development. The ideal candidate also has experience with in-process and post-production testing of finished dosage forms according to guidance by the United States Pharmacopoeia. Successful candidates should meet the following criteria: Have earned/expect to earn a PhD in a relevant field (such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering) Strong skills in formulation sciences/clinical pharmaceutics Project management and scientific writing experience, and Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
