Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemistry and Biochemistry

The University of Texas at Arlington PortalArlington, TX

About The Position

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position is expected to start by May 01, 2026, with potential renewal based on performance. Dr. Saiful Chowdhury’s laboratory in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join ongoing NIH -funded projects in Immune signaling, chemical proteomics, and bioinformatics. The Chowdhury Lab integrates chemical crosslinking, mass spectrometry–based proteomics, bioinformatics, and cell signaling studies to elucidate protein interaction and modification networks and their roles in immune responses and disease mechanisms. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in immune signaling and strong backgrounds in cell biology, biochemistry, or protein mass spectrometry.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in immune signaling, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, protein sample preparation, immunoprecipitation, co-immunoprecipitation, stable cell cultures, primary immune cell cultures, and gene editing are required.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience in LC–MS/MS, proteomics and bioinformatics will be given strong preference.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in crosslinking proteomics and covalent labeling to study protein interactions and post-translational modifications.
  • Perform biochemical and cell-based experiments to investigate and quantify immune signaling pathways of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and Nod-like receptors (NLRs).
  • Analyze proteomics data and contribute to manuscript preparation and presentations.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
