About The Position

Job Responsibilities 50%: Lab research - Design, plan, conduct and coordinate experiments in a wet lab as well as using computers. 20%: Communication - Keep detailed records of data and share regular updates with PI. - Summarize results for inclusion in scientific and grant-oriented publications and presentations. - Present results at local, regional, national, and international conferences. 20%: Mentoring - Supervise undergraduate and graduate students and other laboratory or technical staff involved in research. 10%: Other Duties - Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education: -Ph.D. in biological, chemical, or physical sciences Position contingent on availability of grant funding All positions are security-sensitive. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in biological, chemical, or physical sciences
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks, such as Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a molecular biology, biochemistry, or structural biology lab
  • ImageJ and Matlab.
  • Expertise in biosensors or protein design
  • Familiarity with genetic model organisms, microscopy, and other appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment
