The successful candidate will contribute to one or more research projects funded by USDA, NASA, and industry sponsors. All projects focus on skeletal muscle mitochondria and inflammation, with current projects in 7 different species. The candidate will learn analytical techniques, including high-resolution respirometry, multiplex assays using MesoScale Discovery, cryosectioning and immunofluorescence, and kinetic colorimetry. The candidate will have the opportunity to integrate with investigators and partners at different institutions, including Iowa State University, the University of Florida, Oklahoma State University, Virginia Tech, and private farms in Lexington, KY.
