About The Position

The Cooper lab at WashU is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow with a strong background in immunology and bioinformatics to work on projects related to understanding somatic variants in inborn errors of immunity. This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
  • Strong background in Immunology and bioinformatics, including first-author original publications.
  • Expertise in analysis of genomic datasets.
  • Strong writing skills as evidenced by past publications and/or grant awards.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design and perform experiments related to identification of somatic variants leading to inborn errors of immunity, with oversight from PI.
  • Write manuscripts describing the findings of your scientific research.
  • Accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Assist with writing grant applications for the laboratory, and submit training grant applications to support your work.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the laboratory.
  • Meet with Dr. Cooper regularly to review progress and for career development.
