Baylor University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the EvoGenOMICS team within the Giassetti Lab in the Department of Biology. This position focuses on multi-omics integration, gene-edited animal generation, and the biology of gametes and preimplantation embryos, particularly in relation to fertility and animal developmental biology. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and a strong background in mammalian gamete, preimplantation embryo, and pluripotent stem cell biology. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a laboratory setting. The postdoctoral researcher will lead projects, conduct technical laboratory research, maintain detailed records, analyze scientific data, and prepare reports for publication and grant applications. The position also involves mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers and presenting findings at professional meetings. The selected candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a strong ethical understanding of the scientific focus, especially during late-night and early morning hours required for embryology experiments. This is a one-year assignment with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance, with a preferred start date of August 1, 2024.
