About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will support the Climate Smart Feed Management Committee by developing and disseminating science-based resources, integrating committee activities, and organizing summits. This role involves creating decision-support tools, building a website to provide educational materials, and linking feed composition and modeling efforts to assist conservation professionals, NRCS personnel, and other stakeholders in adopting climate-smart feeding practices. Help organize a topical summit focused on feed management and climate-smart agriculture, engaging stakeholders, including policymakers and academia.

Requirements

• PhD in animal science, soil and crop sciences, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in feed management strategies, nutrient modeling, and precision livestock farming.
• Prior experience with outreach, website development, or organizing summits.
• Experience in website development and resource dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in developing a dedicated website to disseminate factsheets, white papers, reports, and decision-support tools for feed and nutrient management, targeting conservation professionals and producers.
• Coordinate activities between the Feed Composition and Modeling Committees and contribute to projects such as COMET and RuFAS.
• Assist in predicting the adequacy of diets to meet nutrient requirements using species models.
• Engage with stakeholders to organize and conduct a topical feeding and nutrient management summit focusing on climate-smart agricultural practices.
• Analyze data, review relevant literature, and contribute to preparing manuscripts and project reports.
• Collaborate with producers, NRCS personnel, and other stakeholders to support the implementation of climate-smart feeding practices.
