The Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biomedical Engineering will test commercially available membranes and develop novel membranes for viral vector harvesting and for further downstream purification including full and empty capsid separations. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for designing and planning experiments, supervising and working with graduate and undergraduate students, maintaining laboratory equipment, crafting manuscripts for publication, and assisting grant proposals. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Strong background and experience in membrane fabrication, membrane surface modification, and other relevant membrane-based separations
  • At least two years of prior postdoctoral and/or student supervision experiences
