About The Position

The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University currently comprises 19 faculty and over 50 graduate students, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies. Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities. The Department seeks applicants from individuals who are interested in obtaining postdoctoral research experience in the area of statistics and related areas. Individuals in those positions are expected to conduct a program of research in collaboration with one or more faculty members in the Department of Statistics and to teach a limited number of courses. A teaching load of one to two courses per semester is expected. The open positions are temporary. Annual terms and reappointment may depend on performance and/or the continued availability of funding. Please note the successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start date. The Department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Statistics or related field by start date

  • Prior research experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with laboratory, field, or computational research methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
  • Experience with data analysis, scientific writing, or specialized research techniques relevant to the hiring lab.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting laboratory, field, or computational research activities
  • Collecting, managing, and analyzing research data
  • Assisting with experimental design and protocol implementation
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, materials, and documentation
  • Contributing to manuscripts, reports, and presentations
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, graduate students, and other research personnel
  • Specific duties will be defined at the time of hire by the supervising faculty member.
