About The Position

The Yu Laboratory at the Endocrine Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and talented Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to perform epidemiologic research in osteoporosis health disparities. Osteoporotic fractures are a common and important public health problem, and significant knowledge gaps are present due to limited demographic diversity in prior studies of bone health. Our research seeks to improve health equity by investigating osteoporosis tools and therapies across racially and ethnically diverse populations, including groups traditionally underrepresented in research. We will leverage large datasets to generate new fracture prediction tools and osteoporosis treatment recommendations that apply to patients of all backgrounds. These projects involve epidemiologic analyses of real-world data as well as individual-level patient data from clinical trials and involves collaboration with experts from across the country. The overall goal is to provide an evidence base for clinical osteoporosis recommendations that are validated and applicable to all populations. This position is a 2-year position funded through a grant from the Doris Duke Foundation. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will join a highly collaborative and dynamic environment to advance research projects related to health equity in osteoporosis care.
