About the position

The postdoctoral fellow position at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center focuses on cancer biology and immunology, specifically investigating the role of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment and their impact on drug resistance and relapse in breast cancer patients. The fellow will work under Dr. Chakrabarti and engage in advanced research utilizing various mouse tumor models and human patient samples, contributing to significant scientific publications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and conduct specialized and advanced collaborative research experiments in mice models and patient samples.
  • Establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Evaluate and analyze data in a timely manner.
  • Summarize findings and attend lab meetings.
  • Participate in manuscript and grant writing and reviewing.
  • Responsible for some laboratory day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • PhD degree with research experience in cancer biology and/or immunology.
  • A track record of peer-reviewed lead authorship publications.
  • Familiarity with animals and in vitro cancer biology models as well as immunology.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
