About The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Genentech. A Postdoctoral fellow position is available for a highly motivated and independent candidate to join the laboratory of Dr. Mahesh Yadav in the Translational Medicine Oncology department at Genentech. Dr. Yadav’s lab focuses on understanding and monitoring anti-tumor specific T cell responses to track treatment outcomes and inform clinical decisions, and discovering novel tumor antigens for cancer vaccines. This position will focus on mapping the repertoire of T cell receptors (TCRs) against tumor antigens and using this as a tool to identify and validate various classes of tumor antigens. It will also involve using advanced technologies such as single-cell sequencing (CITE-seq) and spatial transcriptomics on clinical specimens for monitoring T cell responses. This postdoctoral position will provide an opportunity to contribute to the exciting cancer vaccine pipeline in gRED. Candidates familiar with T cell immunology, TCR sequencing, and computational analysis are especially encouraged to apply. The Opportunity: Discovery and Research: Identification and mapping of antigen-specific T cells/TCRs to track longitudinal T cell dynamics Computational Workflow: TCR sequencing on clinical samples followed by computational analysis for identifying predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers Collaborative Research: You will have opportunities to productively collaborate with other researchers across departments, present your work to project teams, and contribute to high-impact scientific publications. Strategic Impact: As a member of the Translational Medicine Oncology department, you will join leaders in leading projects that align with Genentech’s cancer vaccine strategic efforts. Professional Development: You will be part of the Genentech post-doctoral training program, which provides an outstanding environment and the opportunity to pursue fundamental basic science questions while utilizing clinical trial samples to drive breakthrough discoveries in drug development.
