About The Position

The Postdoctoral Fellow - Research will participate in a one-year fellowship designed to strengthen the behavioral health workforce in Northeast Tennessee. The Fellow will support the integration of substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery through science by conducting research, training, advocacy, and contributing subject-matter expertise to interprofessional teams. The role includes developing and delivering educational initiatives, supporting practice transformation, and advancing workforce capacity through dissemination and implementation science. The fellowship also provides advanced training in research, facilitation, curricular development, and community engagement to improve coordinated care and health outcomes related to substance use disorders. This position is for one year only.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health care interventions, health care service delivery environments, and best practice team-based approaches to care.
  • Knowledge of instructional methods and curriculum development for adult learners.
  • Ability to translate research into practice, particularly through implementation research in clinically related areas.
  • Skill in teaching and training, including lecture delivery, classroom instruction, small-group facilitation, and individualized education.
  • Ability to adapt educational content for health care professionals and trainees, especially in substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders in health care, academic, and community environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary clinical and academic teams
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical or Experimental Psychology or related field; or Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Community/Behavioral Health or related field.
