About The Position

This position may occasionally be required to work additional hours or weekends as needed to complete time-sensitive projects or facilitate events and programs. The Postdoctoral Fellow reports to Jie Li, Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy to investigate natural products biological activities, chemistry, or biosynthesis for drug discovery.

Requirements

  • PhD (received within 3 years) with a research background in natural products discovery or biological evaluations.
  • Proficiency in analyzing microbial genomic or metabolomic data.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct scientific research and report in the form of original research publications.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD and at least one year of experience with bioassays.
  • Prior experience in biological evaluations with animal models, as well as strong verbal and writing communication skills.

  • Microbial genome mining for specialized metabolites discovery from human microbiota
  • Manuscript preparation for scientific publication
  • Generate data and participate in scientific writing to contribute to grant applications
