About The Position

The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is excited to announce the offering of a 1-year (12-month) postdoctoral position in the Center for Brief Therapy and Interprofessional Education Program, with a targeted start date of August 1st, 2025 with flexibility to start earlier or later. This is an ideal position for a student who is interested in blending IPE with psychological and neuropsychological assessment skills with the goal of ultimately working in an interdisciplinary medical setting. This is not a position for a student who wants to pursue only a clinical neuropsychology post-doctoral training pathway which would require a two-year training experience focused exclusively on neuropsychology. There is also an opportunity for training involvement with other departments in the medical school (e.g., Biomedical sciences).

Requirements

  • Candidate must hold a PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology, or expect to have the degree conferred prior to the start of the position.
  • Must have graduated from an APA-accredited graduate program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.).
  • Fulfillment of all requirements for Ph.D. or Psy.D. prior to starting the postdoctoral fellowship.
  • Submit a brief letter describing educational background, a curriculum vita, and two letters of reference if graduated from a doctoral program other than PCOM's Clinical PsyD program.
  • Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) on the teaching, administration, advancement and expansion of the IPE program and IPE research.
  • Engage in research initiatives including the interprofessional study of quality of life of persons undergoing kidney dialysis and their caregivers.
  • Provide direct service (behavioral health interventions, short-term cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, psychoeducation, etc.) in PCOM primary care healthcare centers and the Center for Brief Therapy (CBT).
  • Consult and supervise clinical psychology practicum students and interns providing psychological services to the community.
  • Assume administrative duties including marketing, monitoring of productivity, and chart maintenance under supervision.
  • Engage in Assessment Services within the Center for Brief Therapy (CBT), providing direct service, consultation, and supervision.
  • Develop didactic training for other students in the CBT related to psychological and neuropsychological assessment.
  • Dedicate time for research and psychological and neuropsychological administrative/report-writing duties.
  • Develop a research project and/or support additional projects in collaboration with or under supervision of a core faculty member.

Benefits

  • Total rewards package that supports employees' health, life, career and retirement.
