Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry
About The Position
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent and collaborative research on mitochondrial membrane proteins. The position involves biochemical, biophysical, and cellular approaches to investigate protein structure-function relationships and mitochondrial metabolism. The fellow will contribute to experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and mentoring of junior lab members. This is a 1-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Nice To Haves
- Experience with mitochondrial biology, metabolomics, or transporter assays
- Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and fluorescence microscopy
