The department of Public Health Education, under the direction of Dr. Mateus Gouveia has an immediate need for a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to advancing the use of fine-scale genetic diversity (e.g., locus-specific ancestry) to facilitate the inclusion of ancestrally diverse populations in association studies, including Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS). The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of wet and dry-lab biomedical scientists at MSM and an extensive network of international collaborators in the US, Brazil, and African countries. They will gain hands-on experience in study design, data analysis, coding, and manuscript preparation, participate in specialized training, present research findings at scientific meetings, and publish in high-impact journals. The role aims to develop skills to launch a successful career in academia or industry. Dr. Gouveia's lab promotes an integrative approach to Population Genetics and Genetic Epidemiology, where Postdoctoral Fellows will work collaboratively, combining their respective expertise to tackle the Lab's research goals.
