About The Position

Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at City of Hope where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research. A Postdoctoral Fellow Position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tijana Jovanovic-Talisman. Biological nanoparticles that are continuously shed by cells – namely extracellular vesicles (EVs) – are an emerging and exciting strategy for performing minimally invasive diagnoses. Because EVs are loaded with disease-specific molecules, they represent an excellent source of biomarkers. The project involves employing super-resolution microscopy approaches to characterize extracellular vesicles that contain disease-specific molecules. Ultimately, the goal is to develop a new platform to perform molecular level diagnoses for precision medicine. About Dr. Jovanovic-Talisman: Tijana Jovanovic-Talisman, PhD is an Associate Professor in the department of Cancer Biology and Molecular Medicine. Her team is investigating biological processes that are critical to the progression of cancer and other diseases by using quantitative super-resolution microscopy.
