A healthier future. It's what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That's what makes us Genentech. A Postdoctoral fellow position is available for a highly motivated and independent candidate to join the Computational Biophysics Team in the Department of Pharmaceutical Development at Genentech. Our computational biophysics team drives the development of advanced, physics-based in silico methods aimed at understanding the developability properties of therapeutic molecules and providing molecular-level insights. By supporting research and development teams, we enable the implementation of mitigation strategies and facilitate informed decision-making to achieve long-term molecular stability. This postdoctoral position offers an opportunity to contribute to development-focused initiatives. Key areas include generating a molecular-level understanding of self-association and developing guiding tools and methods to support formulation development. Candidates with experience in protein self-association, interfacial behavior, and the effects of salts are especially encouraged to apply. The Opportunity: You will have opportunities to productively collaborate with other researchers across departments, present your work to project teams, and contribute to scientific publications. The successful candidate will be integral to the Pharmaceutical Development Department, collaborating with experts to advance the understanding of key considerations in formulation development and to elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing stability in therapeutic formulations using in silico methods. You will be part of the Genentech post-doctoral training program and the Pharmaceutical Development Innovation Team offering an exceptional environment and the opportunity to pursue fundamental science questions within a context focused on drug development and breakthrough discoveries. Who You Are: Ph.D. with a proven track record of excellence in computational biophysics and/or computational chemistry. Must have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a leading peer-reviewed journal. Independent scientist with outstanding communication skills, a strong passion and commitment to science, who works well within a team Excited about supporting large molecule therapeutic development
