The required degree must be completed by the start date. Experience: Experience with cell culture and molecular biology. Ability to learn Cryo-ET theory and practice. Strong work ethic. Sound reasoning, social, writing, and verbal skills. Duties/Expectations: Obtain cryo-ET 3d images of the bacterial secretion systems. This includes preparing samples, recording tilt-series, calculating 3d reconstructions, producing sub-tomogram averages, building integrative atomic models, and writing papers and grants.
