The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.

  • Conduct research in the field of study under supervision.
  • Report and present research findings.
  • Contribute to research focused on understanding the early determinants of acute lung dysfunction and injury.
  • Utilize advanced Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) techniques.
  • Pursue an independent academic career in lung functional imaging.
  • Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field.
  • Scientific research experience.
  • Background in engineering, physics, or other quantitative sciences.
  • Advanced knowledge in signal processing, image processing and analysis, including the use of AI techniques.
  • Numerical analysis, image registration, mathematical modeling, and tracer kinetics knowledge.
  • Creative and systematic approach to complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, and LabView.
  • Experience in animal or human research, including clinical studies.
  • Knowledge of respiratory pathophysiology.
