Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a two-year, 100% grant-funded position. The role involves full-time research or scholarship, potentially including teaching responsibilities, and is designed to prepare individuals for a full-time academic or research career. The appointee will work under the supervision of a mentor and is expected to publish research findings during the appointment. The position is not part of a clinical training program unless research training is the primary focus. The Luftig Laboratory is specifically looking for a candidate to study the influence of Epstein-Barr virus infection on B cell differentiation in situ, as part of a U54 grant focused on EBV infection in tonsillar tissue explant.

  • Conduct research on how Epstein-Barr virus infection influences B cell differentiation in situ.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and/or other records of research activity.
  • Publish research findings during the appointment.
  • Adhere to University standards regarding the use of isotopes, chemicals, infectious agents, animals, and human subjects.
  • Engage in open discussions with the mentor regarding research activities.
  • Comply with all applicable University and departmental policies and procedures.
  • PhD or equivalent doctorate (e.g., ScD, MD, DVM).
  • Completion of all requirements for a degree, with proof of degree equivalency for non-US degrees if applicable.
