About The Position

The Williams Lab (www.williamslabpitt.com) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to develop a project intersection of cancer biology and tumor immunology. We are affiliated with Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and located at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Campus. The Candidate will be expected work independently to advance a project that tests the impact of suppressive myeloid cells on outgrowth of breast cancer liver metastases. Previous experience designing, managing, and analyzing in vivo experiments is a plus. Training will be provided in established animal procedures to model breast cancer liver metastasis. Initiative-taking applicants that are interested in simultaneously developing highly relevant human-derived models to assess tumor cell-immune interactions are encouraged to apply. The applicant should be able to learn quickly, complete tasks efficiently, collaborate with other research groups, and mentor other scientist in the Williams lab. The Candidate must have a doctorate degree in the biomedical science field and previous experience in the cancer biology or tumor immunology fields, and have advanced communication and organizational skills allowing them to orchestrate project planning, management, and dissemination of results as presentations or manuscripts under the direction of Dr. Williams. The Candidate should be detail oriented and will be expected to develop a competitive proposal and apply for fellowship funding from relevant mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in the biomedical science field
