About The Position

The Postdoctoral Associate will work on a project to investigate and quantify neurochemicals in live brain tissue using fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) and fiber photometry. The project(s) will integrate pharmacological and behavioral studies with real-time neurochemical measurements to clarify: 1) chemical mechanisms that underlie brain function, and 2) how the dynamic nature of the recording environment affects the chemical measurements themselves.

Requirements

  • Received the doctorate in a field appropriate to the assigned duties and responsibilities
  • PhD in Neuroscience, Chemistry, Pharmacology or a related field, with a track record of productivity and innovation
  • Creative thinking skills and solid command of the related literature
  • Ability to work collaboratively with excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Solid background and experience in behavioral assays related to motivation, drug abuse/addiction, and/or pain
  • Experience with optogenetic/chemogenetic manipulations of brain circuitry
  • Experience in real-time electroanalytical or photometric measurements of neurochemical species
