About The Position

Virginia Tech is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral associate in the phenomenology group with interests including but not limited to neutrinos, dark matter, model-building, and/or particle-astrophysics. The phenomenology group consists of two faculty, Patrick Huber and Ian Shoemaker, within the Center for Neutrino Physics that consists of more than a dozen faculty in both theory and experiment. The primary duties of the position will consist of research in theoretical high energy physics, writing peer-reviewed publications and presenting research results to a wider research community both regionally and internationally. Senior Research Associates will have additional responsibilities with mentoring the junior group members and potentially assisting the PIs with grant management.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics or a closely related field
  • PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment
  • Minimum of one year eligibility remaining
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous postdoctoral experience (for Senior Research Associate applicants)

Responsibilities
