The Center for Safe and Secure AI Robotics is looking to hire a post-doctoral associate to carry out research in deep learning methods for robotics. Single robots and swarms are both within the scope of the project. The appointment is for one year, renewable for a second year given the availability of funds. The focus is on fundamental properties of simulated neural networks, like neural scaling laws, as they manifest in metrics specific to robotics and impact robotics applications. The thrust of the research is multidisciplinary. The successful candidate will join a multi-institution research team of faculty at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and Indiana University (IU), Bloomington, consisting of physicists, neuroscientists, engineers, and other researchers investigating biological, artificial, and simulated neural networks (NNs). The position is based in Utica, NY. It also provides access to research resources from IU Bloomington.
